Draupadi Murmu became the 15th President of India. She is the second woman president and first woman president who comes from a tribal community. She is the first person belonging to a Scheduled Tribe to be elected President of India.

Draupadi Murmu has became the 15th President of India, she was contested against Yashwant Sinha. Draupadi Murmu is a Tribal leader from Rairangpur in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. After winning the Presidential election of 2022 she has became the first tribal and second woman to hold the highest office of India.

Draupadi Murmu startedher career as sa teacher before entering State Politics. She worked as an Assistant professor at eh Shri Aurobindo Education and Research Institute, Rairangpur and as a Junior Assistant at the irrigation department of the Government of Odisha.

Draupadi Murmu Awards and Honours

In 2007, she received the Nilkantha Award for the best MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) by Odisha Legislative Assembly.
