Elon Musk vote for republic

There has been not so much time when Elon Musk took charge of the Twitter Inc, the billionaire Elon Musk on Monday recommended voters to pick Republican candidates for Congress in Tuesday's US midterm election. He said it on his twitter account. Musk who is founder, CEO and owner of Tesla and SpaceX, has faced criticism from some groups over his absolutist stance on free speech. In a tweet made by him on Monday represented the first time the head of a major social media platform explicitly endorsed a US political party.

Musk tweeted "To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic." He also added further "Hardcore Democrats or republicans never vote for the other side, so independent voters are the ones who actually decide who's in charge!"

In other words Musk directed his twitter message to what he called "Independent-minded voters" writing: 'Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the presidency is Democratic'. President Joe Biden's Democrats face a steep battle to retain control of Congress in Tuesday's vote.

According to a report published on reuters "Republicans are favoured to win a majority in the House of Representatives in Tuesday's elections, with the Senate rated a toss-up by nonpartisan election forecasters. Democrats currently control both houses."

Musk, the world's richest person and CEO of Tesla took over Twitter in a $ 44 billion deal last month and has engaged in drastic measures including sacking half the staff and a plan to charge for blue check verification marks. His absolutist stance on free speech has led some groups to warn against a rise in misinformation and some advertisers to pull their spending. A crackdown on users inpersonating Musk prompted Twitter to suspend comedian Kathy Griffin. Later, he added, "I am open to the idea of voting Democrat again in the future" and said he had historically been an independent who had voted for Democrats.

Musk has been critical of the Biden administration and democrats for their proposals to tax billionaires and give more tax incentives to union made electric vehicles. Tesla does not have unions at U.S. factories.

Brandon Morse (@TheBrandonMorse) said: "Once Republicans take the Exec office in 2024, we can then begin voting in Libertarians (serious ones) to begin balancing that power. Until Democrats learn to be centrists again, they shouldn't be given an ounce of authority."
