- He has developed slower than teammate Cameron Green but is emerging as an international player and leader.

- Hardie is a powerful batter, capable of batting in the top order in T20s and middle order in first-class cricket.

- He bowls with the new ball in first-class cricket and can swing it effectively.

- Born in England, he grew up in Perth and attended Aquinas College. He played with Cameron Green at the underage level.

- Hardie gained attention in 2018 by dismissing Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, while also scoring 86 runs against a strong Indian side in a tour match.

- He made his Big Bash League (BBL) debut with Perth Scorchers and his Sheffield Shield debut for Western Australia in the same season, followed by his List A debut a year later.

- In March 2020, he made his first Sheffield Shield century.

- Hardie's breakout came in the 2021-22 Shield final, where he scored 174 not out and took five wickets, earning recognition for Australia A.

- He performed well during Australia A’s tour of Sri Lanka in 2022.

- In 2022-23, he continued to improve, leading Australia A and scoring a century as captain during a New Zealand tour.

- In 2023, he made his T20I and ODI debuts in South Africa and captained Perth Scorchers.
