PM YASASVI Scheme: A Big Step

In line with the vision of "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas" (Together with all, Development for all), the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has rolled out the PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (PM-YASASVI). What’s the Goal?

The main goal of this scheme is to make sure these groups can continue their education without worrying about money. It offers scholarships for students in Class 9 and 10, as well as for higher studies.

How It Helps:

- Pre-Matric Scholarship (Classes 9-10): Students in government schools can get an annual academic allowance of ₹4,000 if their family income is below ₹2.5 lakh.

- Post-Matric Scholarship (Higher Studies): This is for students pursuing further studies after Class 10.

For meritorious students, the scheme covers not only tuition fees but also hostel expenses and other costs:

- For School Students (Classes 9-12): Financial support of up to ₹1.25 lakh annually.

- For College Students at Top Institutions: Full financial support, covering tuition, living expenses, and study materials.

Building Hostels for OBC Students

To make education more accessible, ₹12.75 crore has been set aside for building hostels for OBC boys and girls near government schools and institutions, ensuring that students from socially and economically backward backgrounds have a better chance at quality education.
