 Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports announces Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards for year 2021. The award will be given away by the President of India Draupadi Murmu on 30th of November at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports announced this National Adventure Awards for the year 2021. This award will be given in four categories : Land adventure, water adventure, air adventure and Life Time Achievement.

Group Captain Bhawani Singh Samyal will be conferred with Life Time Achievement Award, Shubham Dhananjay Vanmali with Water Adventure and Naina Dhakad with Land Adventure.

They will receive statuettes, certificates and award money of 15 Lakh rupees each. This award is presented every year to recognize the achievements of persons in the field of adventures, to encourage young people to develop the spirit of endurance, risk taking and to provide incentive to the young people by getting exposed to adventure activities. 

Highlights of this report:

1. Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award for year 2021 will be given on 30 November.

2. The award will be presented to: (a) Ms. Naina Dhakad under Land Adventure, Shri Shubham Dhananjay Vanmali under Water Adventure and Group Captain Kunwar Bhawani Singh Samyal under Lifetime Achievement.

3. The award will be presented in four categories of adventures: Land, Air, Water and Life Time Achievement.

4. Winners will receive a statuttes, certificates and award money of 15 lakh rupees each.

5. It is given to encourage young people to develop the spirit of endurance.

About Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award

The Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award was formerly known as the National Adventure Awards. It is one of the highest adventure sports honour of the Republic of India. The Award is named after Tenzing Norgay, who was one of the first two individuals to reach the summit of Mount Everest along with Edmund Hillary in 1953.
This award was instituted in year 1993-1994 and the first awards were given for the year 1994. The status of this award is considered to be equivalent to the Arjuna Award.Post Script (PS):
