7. Ministry of Heavy Industries Launches PM E-DRIVE Scheme

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme on 11th September 2024, with a budget of ₹10,900 crore over two years to promote electric vehicles (EVs) in India.
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल, प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में, 11 सितंबर 2024 को पीएम इलेक्ट्रिक ड्राइव रिवोल्यूशन इन इनोवेटिव व्हीकल एन्हांसमेंट (PM E-DRIVE) योजना को मंजूरी दी, जिसमें देश में इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों (EVs) को बढ़ावा देने के लिए ₹10,900 करोड़ का बजट निर्धारित किया गया है।

The scheme aims to boost the adoption of electric mobility and develop necessary charging infrastructure across the country.

Key components of the PM E-DRIVE Scheme include:
PM E-DRIVE योजना के मुख्य घटक निम्नलिखित हैं:

- Subsidies/Demand Incentives: ₹3,679 crore allocated to support electric two-wheelers (e-2Ws), three-wheelers (e-3Ws), e-ambulances, e-trucks, and other electric vehicles, benefiting millions of customers.
- सबसिडी/डिमांड इंसेंटिव: ₹3,679 करोड़ ई-टू-व्हीलर्स (e-2Ws), ई-थ्री-व्हीलर्स (e-3Ws), ई-एंबुलेंस, ई-ट्रक्स और अन्य इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों का समर्थन करने के लिए आवंटित किया गया है, जिससे लाखों ग्राहकों को लाभ होगा।

- E-Vouchers: Aadhaar-authenticated e-vouchers will be provided to EV buyers at the time of purchase to avail incentives.
- ई-वाउचर: इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों के खरीदारों को खरीद के समय आधार-सत्यापित ई-वाउचर प्रदान किए जाएंगे ताकि वे इंसेंटिव प्राप्त कर सकें।

- E-Ambulances: ₹500 crore allocated for deploying electric ambulances, with standards developed in collaboration with health ministries.

- Coal Production Increase: The Ministry of Coal reported a significant increase in coal production in September 2024, reaching 68.94 Million Ton (MT). 
- कोयला उत्पादन में वृद्धि: कोयला मंत्रालय ने सितंबर 2024 में कोयला उत्पादन में महत्वपूर्ण वृद्धि की रिपोर्ट की, जो 68.94 मिलियन टन (MT) तक पहुंच गया। 

- Year-on-Year Growth: This production surpasses last year's September figure of 67.26 MT, marking a growth of 2.49%. 
- वर्ष दर वर्ष वृद्धि: यह उत्पादन पिछले वर्ष के सितंबर के आंकड़े 67.26 MT से अधिक है, जो 2.49% की वृद्धि दर्शाता है। 

- Cumulative Production: Cumulative coal production up to September 2024 is 453.01 MT (provisional), compared to 427.97 MT during the same period in FY 2023-24.
- संचयी उत्पादन: सितंबर 2024 तक का संचयी कोयला उत्पादन 453.01 MT (अस्थायी) है, जबकि FY 2023-24 की इसी अवधि में यह 427.97 MT था। 

- Overall Growth: The total growth in coal production for FY 2024-25 so far is 5.85%.
