 1. RBI appointed new Executive Directors

The reserve bank of India has appointed Ajay kumar Chaudhary and Deepak kumar as new Executive Directors. The appointment of the ED's has been made with effect from January 3rd, 2022.

As Executive Director, Deepak kumar will loo after the:

  • Foreign Exchange Department
  • Department of communication and Deposit Insurance
  • Credit Gurantee Corporation
And Ajay kumar Chaudhary will look after:
  • Fintech department
  • Risk Monitoring Department
  • Inspection Department

2. China successfully test 'Artificial Sun' to harness clean energy.(Source: Gadget 360)

China is Experimenting to make artificial sun. The name of this project is "Experiential Advanced Superconducting Tokamak" (EAST). This project is performed to make way for clean energy i n the future.

The device setup is a fusion reactor which ran successfully for almost 20 minutes at a stunning 70 million degree celsius in a recent test. 'EAST' has been designed and built by the Chinese which has been in use for nuclear fusion experiments since 2006.

The latest experiment took place at the Hefei Institute of Physical Science in the Eastern province of Anhui, China.

3. National Space Science Symposium - 2022

National Space Science Symposium- 2022 is scheduled to be held between 31st January and 4th February at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata. The information is provided on ISRO website as ISRO is one of sponsor of this symposium. 

The symposium is a platform to provide a scientific forum for the presentation of new results and to discuss recent developments is space science, planetary exploration and space and ground based astronomy programmes or projects being pursued at various research institutes and universities in India.

This is 21st National Space Symposium. The registration deadline for this symposium is 10th January 2022.

4. Shri Nitin Gadakari inaugurated and lays foundation stones for 572 km of NH projects in Uttar Pradesh

Shri Nitin Gadakari who is Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 572 km of National Highway projects in Kaushambi, Ayodhya and Basti in Uttar Pradesh on 6th of January 2022. The total worth of this project is Rs. 12981 crore.

He inaugurated and laid foundation stone of 6 NH projects worth Rs. 2,659 in Kaushami.

In Ayodhya he laid foundation stones of 6 NH projects worth Rs. 8,698 crore.

Ans in Basti he inaugurated and laid foundation stone of 3 NH projects worth Rs. 1,624 crore.

5. 'Samajik Adhikarita Shivir' for Senior Citizens and Divyangjan to be organised by DEPwD in Kakching, Manipur

A Samajik Adhikarita Shivir will be organised by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) in association with ALIMCO and Department of Social Welfare of Manipur on 07.01.2022 in Kakching District of Manipur.

1895 Aids and assistive devices worth Rs. 64.05 lacs will be distributed among the pre-identified 387 Sr. citizens under Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) and 144 Divyangjan under AIDP scheme of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of Govt. of India. The distribution will be done at block and panchayat level by following the SOP prepared by the department in view of Covid - 19.

Shushri Pratima Bhaumik, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India will be the Chief Guest of the function along with Dr. Radheshyam Yamunam, Member of Legislative Assembly, Hiyanglam, who will be present as Guest of Honour during the function.
