1. Shinzo Abe assassinated on 08 July 2022.
- Shinzo Abe was a Japanese politician who served as prime minister of Japan and President of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). He was the longest serving prime minister in Japanese Histroy. Abe had been delivering a campaign speech in support for fellow LDP party member when he was assassinated on 08 July 2022 in Nara.
2. First 'Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture' organised in New Delhi.
- First 'Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture' was organised on 8 July 2022 in New Delhi.
- The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi attends the first 'Arun jaitley Memorial lecture'(AJML) by Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister, Government of Singapore at New Delhi. The Prime Minister said that the topic of lecture "Growth through Inclusivity, Inclusivity through Growth" is the foundation of the gevernment's development policy. He said, "In simple terms, this theme, according to me, is Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas".
- The Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance organised the first 'Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture' in recognition of Shri Arun Jaitley's invaluable contribution to the nation.
3. Two sites associated with Dr. B. R. Ambedkar to be declared as monuments of National Importance.
- Nationa Monuments Authority has recommended two sites associated with Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the Father of Indian Constitution and a great social reformer, to be declared as monuments of National Importance.
- The first place is Sankalp Banyan tree campus in Vadodara, where Dr. Ambedkar has taken a resolve to eradicate untouchability on 23rd September, 1917. This place is more than 100 years old and a witness to the beginning of the social respect revolution heralded by Dr. Ambedkar.
- The second place is in Satara (Maharashtra) where Bhim Rao Ramji Ambedkar received his primary education in Pratap Rao Bhosle High School. The school register still shows with pride a child student Bhim Rao's signatures in Marathi. The school is now under zila parishad is in a dilapidated condition.
4. IAF participation in Tactical Leadership Programme in Egypt.
- Tactical Leadership Programme commenced on 24th June and will culminate on 23rd July 2022. Indian Air Force contingent is reaching the midway point of Tactical Leadership Programme (TLP) at Egyptian Air Force (EAF) Weapon School in Egypt (Cairo West Airbase).
- IAF is participating with three Su-30 MKI aircraft. This exercise provides a good opportunity to showcase the reach and capability of IAF. It will also assist in enhancing defence cooperation between the two countries and exchange the best practices.
5. 'Hariyali Mahotsav' - Tree Festival was organized at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi.
- The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change organised 'Hariyali Mahotsav' - Tree Festival at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi on 8th July 2022 to celebrate the nation's zeal for planting trees and saving forests.
- The event was organised in collaboration with the State Governments, Police Institutions of NCT of Government of Delhi and Schools of Delhi for undertaking plantation drives on the occasion and creating awareness about the importance of trees to protect our environment for present as well as future generations.
6. PARIMAN - The Geo-Portal for NCR made public
- Geo - Portal for NCR region known as 'Pariman' was launched in 31.08.2021 in the 40th meeting of the Board, NCRPB.
- With an intent of optimal utilization of resources in public interest, NCRPB has made the Geo - Portal open to public. This Geo - Portal will help to improve decentralized planning and management in NCR region. This portal consists of 179 Layers presented as Point, Line and Polygon feature covering details of various sectors like Land Use, Transport, Industries, Water, Power, Health, Shelter, Heritage and Tourism, Disaster Managemnt, etc.
7. MSME Banking Conclave 2022
- Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA), speaking at the 'MSME Banking Conclave 2022' on 08 July 2022 assured that IREDA is committed to increasing participation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Renewable Sector by offering loan facilites.
- It was organised by MSME Business forum India which is Headquartered in Uttar Pradesh.
8. A MoU signed between Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Central TB Division
- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) and Centrla TB Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW) in New Delhi on 8 July 2022. The MoU will forge inter - Ministerial collaboration and strategic partnerships with the aim to achieving the Prime Minister's ambitious target of Eliminating TB in India by 2025.
- The main objective of this MoU is to forego convergence at policy, programme and implementation levels across the Ministries of the Government of India for a multi - Sectoral and accelerated response towards TB free India.
9. ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi – New India , New Resolve Conference’ organized by CII in Mumbai
- 'Sankalp Se Siddhi - New India, New Resolve Conference' organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Mumbai on 8 July 2022. It was second 'Sankalp Se Siddhi - New India, New Resolve Conference', speaking at this Conference Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadakari said great infrastructure projects to connect Mumbai with Delhi, Pune and bangalore are in pipeline.
- The Sankalp Se Siddhi Conference has been jointly organised by CII and India@75 Foundation in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Culture.
10. Seminar organised on 'Increasing Steel Consumption: Steel Usage Way Forward' at Vishakhapatnam
- Rastriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has taken up several activities as part of Iconic week which is being observed by Ministry of Steel starting from 4th to 10th July 2022 as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration.
- As part of this iconic week celebrations, a seminar on 'Increasing Steel Consumption: Steel Usage Way Forward' was organised by Institute for Steel Development and Growth (INSDAG) under the aegis of RINL, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
- The seminar dealt primarily on the production/consumption of steel, reasons for low consumption of steel in India, steps taken to improve steel consumption and rural initiatives and other activities of INSDAG.
11. Revised schemes of Cash Awards, National Welfare and Pension to Sportspersons launched
- Union Minister for Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Anurag thakur launched revised schemes of Cash Rewards, National Welfare and Pensions to Sportspersons in New Delhi. He also launched Web Portals for Schemes of Department of Sports and National Sports Development Fund website.
- Revised schemes will provide more transparency and accountability to give benefits to sports persons in record time: Anurag Thakur.
