1. 4th phase of sea trial of Indigenous Aircraft Carrier VIKRANT completed

  • The fourth phase of Sea Trials for Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) has been successfully on 10th July 2022. The ship's delivery is being targeted in end July 2022 followed by commissioning of the ship in August 2022 to commemorate 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'.
  • The designing and construction of this IAC has been done by Indian Navy and Cochin Shipyard Ltd., it has more than 76% indigenous content.
  • First trial of IAC was successfully completed in August 2021 followed by second and third phases of sea trial in October 2021 and January 2022 respectively.
  • During Trials of this Indigenous Aircraft Carrier, testing of propulsion machinery, electrical and electronic suites, deck machinery, lifesaving appliances, ship's navigation and communication systems was undertaken.

2. Two new Internet Exchange Points (IXP) of NIXI inaugurated

  • West Bengal gets Internet Exchange Points at Durgapur and Bardhaman on 10th July of 2022. The inauguration of these two Internet Exchange Points was done by Shri Rajeev Chandrashekhar - Ministry of State, Electronics and Informational Technology, in August presence of Shri S S Ahluwalia who is Member of Parliament Bardhaman - Durgapur Lok Sabha.
  • The launch of these Internet exchanges is under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Digital India vision to connect every Indian with open, safe and trusted and accountable internet.

3. 22nd National Fish Farmers Day celebrated

  • National Fisheries Development Board  (NFDB), Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, celebrated the 22nd National Fish Faremers Day on 10th July 2022 in a hybrid mode at NFDB Hyderabad.
  • During the event four posters were released poster on 'Fish for Motherhood', 'Fish Nutrients and their Wellness Benefits', 'Sustainable Fishing Practices' and 'State Fishes of India'.
  • National Fish Farmers Day is celebrated on 10th July every year to demonstrate solidarity with all fisher folk, fish farmers and concerned stakeholders through out the country.

4. Regional Conference will be held at Bengaluru.

  • A two day Regional Conference on the theme, "Bringing Citizens Entrepreneurs and Government Closer for Good Governance" will be held at Bengaluru. The Regional conference is being organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances in collaboration with Government of Karnataka.
  • The conference is an effort to bring the Government and Citizens closer through various administrative reforms at center, state and district level.
  • There will be six sessions during the two day event, (i) Administrative Reforms; (ii) The Outside in View: Private Sector and Good Governance; (iii) Replication of Best Practices: (iv) Administrative Reforms in States; (v) Benchmarking Governance and (vi) Start ups and Experiments in Good Governance.
  • Delegates from all States/Union Territories will participate in the conference. The participation will be held in a semi virtual mode.

5. Double Decker Viaduct of 3.14 km length in Nagpur made World Record

  • Team Maharashtra Metro and Team NHAI achieved the world record in Nagpur by constructing longest Double Decker Viaduct of 3.14 km with Highway Flyover and Metro Rail supported on single column.
  • The Union Minister for road Transport and Highways said constructing Maximum Metro stations (3 Metro stations) on Double Decker Viaduct in Nagpur, recognized by Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records.

6. Pradhan Mntri National Apprenticeship Mela

  • The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) will hold the Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela on 11 July 2022. It is being organised as part of the Prime Minister's Skill India Mission to boost career opportunities and practical training.
  • MSDE will host the event across 200+ locations, giving applicants the opportunity to shape their careers through apprenticeship training.
  • Candidates must have a 5th - 12th grade pass certificate, a skill training certificate, an ITI diploma, or a graduate to participate.
