1. President of India Addressed 'Yuva Sammelan' organised by 'My Home India'

  • The president of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind graced and addressed Yuva Sammelan organised by 'My Home India' in New Delhi on 9 July 2022.
  • The President noted that as of 29 June 2022, 103 Unicorns have been established in India, with a total valuation of aprroximately $ 336 billion. He said that today, 1 out of every 10 unicorns in the world are in India.
  • He was happy to note that 'My Home India' is spreading the spirit of National Unity and Integrity through it's various initiatives. He appreciated 'My Home India' for instituting awards like 'One India' and 'Karmayogi'. This NGO is also engaged in many social works.

2. National Farming Conclave will be organised on 10th July 2022

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a National Farming Conclave on 10th July 2022 via video conferencing. The conclave is being organised in Surat, Gujarat and will witness participation of thousands of farmers and all other stakeholders who have made adoption of Natural Farming in Surat.
  • Prime Minister at Gujarat Panchayat Mahasammelan in March 2022 had urged atlest 75 farmers in each village to adopt natural way of farming. Consequently, at least 75 farmers were identified  in each Gram Panchayat and  were motivated and trained to undertake Natural Farming.
  • The Conclave will also be attended by the Governor and Chief Minister of Gujarat.

3. APEDA organises traininf for students of Class 4 to Class 12

  • The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) organised farming demonstrations and farm training for students of Class 4 to Class 12. Training focussed on elements of paddy cultivation such as puddling, transplanting, processing, production and export process.
  • Besides, Basmati Export Development Foundation (BEDF) scientists explained to them the process of Basmati production, processing, storage, the volume of business and export activities.
  • In line with the objective of the New Education Policy (NEP), the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), organised farming demonstrations and farm training to hone the skills and inculcate the practical knowledge of paddy cultivation among students, start-ups and others.

4. Akhil Bhartiya Siksha Samagam at Varanasi concludes today

  • The three day Akhil Bhartiya Siksha Samagam (ABSS) concluded on 9 July 2022 with education leaders resolving to work collectively for transforming India into an equitable and vibrant knowledge society.
  • On the occasion Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said that components of National Education Policy (NEP) such as Multi - modal education, Academic Banks of Credit, Multiple Entry - Exit, Skill Development will prove to be milestones the direction of student first - teacher led training.

5. Inauguration of Internet Exchanges in Durgapur and Burdaman

  • National Internet Exchange of India introducing Internet Exchanges in Durgapur and Bardhaman to improve quality of Internet and Broadband in Est Bengal and nearby places. The first Internet Exchange of the State at Kolkata is also run by National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI). The inauguration will be at The Citi Residenci, City Center, Durgapur.
  • NIXI is a not for profit Organisation under section 8 of the Companies Act 2013 and was registered on 19th June 2003

6. 30th Meeting of the Northern Zonal Council

  • Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah presided over the 30th Meeting of Northern Zonal Counil in Jaipur. Zonal Councils provide an important forum for discussions regarding cordial relations between the Center and the States.
  • Between 2006 and 2013, 6 meetings of Zonal Council and 8 meetings of Standing Committee were held, while from 2014 to 2022, 19 meetings of the Zonal Council and 24 meetings of the Standing Committee were held.
  • In this meeting, stress was laid on to prepare an effective strategy, by all stakeholders, to deal with cyber crime, Home Minister also instructed to constitute a committee under the chairmanship of Union Home Secretary to formulate a strategy to prevent financial frauds and cyber crime committed through social media.

7. National Conclave on Mines and Minerals will be celebrated on 12th July 2022

  • Ministry of Mines will be organizing the 6th National Conclave on Mines and Minerals as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 12th July 2022 in New Delhi. Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah will be the cheif guest of the conclave to be organised at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre.
  • Some highlights of the conclave include conferring of national level award Rashtriya Khanij Vikas Puraskar to the best performing states in the field of minig, launch of three modules of Mining Tenement System (MTS), awards for 5-star rated mines for the year 2020 - 21and National Geo Science Awards 2019.
  • The concept of  National Mining Conclave was introduced by Ministry of Mines in 2016.
