1. Inauguration of "ISRO  System for Safe and Sustainable Operation" (IS4OM) at Bengaluru

  • Union minister of State (Independant Charge) Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the 'ISRO System for Safe and Sustainable Operation' (IS4OM) at ISRO Control Centre, Bengaluru on 11 July 2022.
  • The facility of IS4OM will aid India in achieving its Sapce Situational Awareness (SSA) goals providing a comprehensive and timely information of the Space environment to users.This multi - domain awareness platform will bring a prompt, accurate and efficient information on on - orbit collision, fragmentation, atmospheric re - entry risk, space based strategic information, hazardous asteroids and space weather forecast.
  • IS4OM facility can support all routine operations safeguarding Indian space assets, mitigating collision threats from space objects through scientific collision avoidance manoeuvres, information required for strategic purposes and research activities in Space Debris and Space Situational Awareness.

2. Construction of rail line, Mahanadi Coal Railway Ltd (MCRL) in Talcher Coalfields of Odisha

  • Talcher coalfields of Mahanadi coalfields is in Odisha is one of the largest source of coal in the country. Of the available resources in Talcher Coalfield, more than 63% lies within 300 m depth. To ensure efficient coal evacuation, construction of rail line started in a phased manner in Talcher Coalfields namely Mahanadi Coal Railway Ltd. (MCRL).
  • The construction of MCRL will be done in two phases. Phase 1 from Angul to Balram of 14 km length is expected to be operationalized by this year while Phase 2 between Balram, Jarpada and Tentuloi of 54 km is expected to be commissioned by Dec'2025.
  • The rail corridor will improve faster movement of coal rakes to Paradip and Damra ports thereby decongesting rail network and this will also reduce transportation cost considerably.

3. Consulation programme on 'Public Private Partnership in Digital Agriculture was organised

  • The Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Government of India is association with World Economic Forum (WEF), India organised a one day stakeholder consultation on Public Private Partnership In Digital Agriculture in  New Delhi on 11 July 2022.
  • It was chaired by Shri Manoj Ahuja, Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare.

4. International Conference on Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray's contribution

  • A two day International Conference on the 'Contributions of Acharya Prafulla Chandra ray as a Chemist and a Freedom Fighter' on 2nd and 3rd August of 2022.
  • Ministry of Culture along with Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi and Vijnana Bharti (VIBHA) organised a curtain raiser for two days International Conference at the Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi in Delhi on 11 July 2022.
  • The Conference will be held on 161st birth anniversary of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray on 2nd - 3rd August 2022. The objectives of this two day International Conference are to expand the legacy and contribution of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray in Society with an Aim to increase general awareness and background of ancient chemistry along with it's importance.

5. First ever 'AI in Defence' (AIDef) symposium and exhibition conducted in New Delhi

  • India's Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh attended the first ever 'AI in Defence' (AIDef) symposium and exhibition in New Delhi on 11 July 2022. This event was organised by Ministry of Defence and during the event Shri Rajnath Singh launched 75 newly developed Artificial Intelligence (AI) products/technologies.
  • Indian does not desire domination, developing AI capability only to protect the Nation from future threats, AI should only be used for development and peace of humanity, says Shri Rajnath Singh.
  • The Raksha Mantri released the physical as well as e version of the book comprising the details of these 75 products, showcasing the collective effort put on by the Services, Defence research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), iDEX start ups and the private industry in the last four years in the field of AI.

 6. Prasar Bharti unveiled it's new logo adding a new chapter in it's glorious history

  • Prasar Bharti India' public broadcaster, unveiled it's new logo on 11th July 2022 and added a new chapter in it's glorious history. The new logo was released by the Secretary Information and Broadcasting, Shri Apurva Vhandra. The organization started as All India Radio (AIR) in the past and Doordarshan (DD) was born to cater television services later and finally came Prasar Bharti (PB) by enactment of an act by the parliament.
  • The new logo of Prasar Bharti is replete with rich meaning. In the new logo symbol for Prasar Bharti, an autonomous statutory body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the elements in the central circle and map of India signify the service of trust, security and perfection for the common man.
  • Headquarter of Prasar Bharti is in New Delhi. It is statutory autonomous body set up by an Act of Parliament, it comprises of the Doordarshan (DD) Television Network and All India Radio (AIR).

7. Iconic Week celebration by Ministry of Mine

  • Ministry of Mines' Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) Iconic Week Celebration Begins from 11th to 17th July 2022, across the country.
  • Union Ministry of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Pralhad Joshi said that incentives will be given the State Governments for successful auctioning of mines and those who have identified potential mineral blocks.

8. New CEO of NITI Aayog: Shri Parameswaran Iyer

  • NITI Aayog welcomes Shri Parameswaran Iyer as NITI Aayog's new CEO. Shri Parameswaran Iyer has 25 years of experience in Water and Sanitation sector.
  • A 1981 batch IAS officer of Uutar Pradesh cadre, Mr Iyer has worked with both the public and private sectors.He was secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation in New Delhi during 2016 -20.
