1. Rashtrapati Bhavan Organizes two day workshop on "Disaster Management of Museums and Heritage Building".

In association with National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), Rashtrapati Bhavan has organised a workshop on "Disaster Management of <Museums and Heritage Buildings" on July 7 and 8 2022 at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The main purpose of this workshop is to create awareness among the officials of Rashtrapati Bhavan and other stakeholders towards disaster management on special focus on heritage buildings, museums and cultural heritage.

During the two day workshop, participants will get learn about:

  • Disaster Management Act
  • Disaster Management Framework and Guidelines
  • Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR)
  • Prime Minister's 10 Agenda on Disaster Risk Reduction

2. 8th Meeting of BRICS Communications Ministers.

The 8th meeting of BRICS Communications Minister were held on 6 July 2022 in virtual mode under the presidency of China. Minister of Railways, Communication, Electronics and Information Technology Shri Ashwini Vaishnav, participated in the meeting and highlighted achievements of India in the field of ICT.

The Ministers decided to work in the field of ICTs in areas identified at the 14th BRICS Summit held on 23 - 24 June 2022. The Ministers also adopted a declaration of the 8th BRICS Communications Meeting.

3. PM inaugurates Akhil Bhartiya Siksha Samagam on implementation of NEP.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated Akhil Bhartiya Siksha Samagam on implementation of the National Education Policy in Varanasi on 07 July 2022. Governor of Uttar Pradesh Shri Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath, Union Ministers Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Smt. Annapurna Devi, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, State Ministers, educationists and other stakeholders were present on the occassion.

The Ministry of Education is organising Siksha Samagam from 7th to 9th July 2022.The event is being organised as part of capacity building of more than 300 Academic, Administrative and Institutional Leaders from Universities (Central,state,deemed and private) and Institutes of National Importance (IIT, IIM, NIT, IISER) from all over the country.

4. 1st Meeting of the Apex Monitoring Authority of National Industrial Corridor Development Programme.

Finance and Corporate Affairs Ministers. Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman on 07 July 2022 chaired the 1st Meeting of the Apex Monitoring Authority of National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. The Apex Monitoring Authority is constituted to review the activities of National Industrial Corridor Development Programme.

Chief Ministers from 6 states, namely Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, M.P, Maharashtra, Uttrakhand; Ministers from 7 states namely Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Rajasthan attended the meeting.

Emphasizing upon the need to ensure optimal utilization of resources, the Finance Minister said that PM's GatiShakti National Master Plan was expected to bring about greater coherence in all investments in infrastructure projects.

5. HDFC Bank Ltd., ICICI Bank and Axis Bank now will be working with Ministry of Defence (MoD).

Ministry of Defence (MoD) has assigned three Private Sector Bank namely HDFC Bank Ltd., ICICI bank and Axis Bankto provide the Letter of Credit and Direct Bank Transfer business for overseas procurement by the Ministry. Memorandum of Understsanding (MoU)s in this connection have been signed with each of these three banks recently by Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (PCDA), New Delhi on Behalf of Ministry of Defence (MoD).

Till now only some authorised public sector banks were in use to provide these services to MoD. With this for the first time three private banks have also been allowed to provide financial services for overseas procurement by MoD.

The selected banks may be allocated with LC Business of Rs. 2000 Crore, each on the capital and revenue side, for a period of one year on concurrent basis (Rs. 666 Crore for each under both capital as well as revenue).

6. India became new member of the Intergovernmental Committee of UNESCO's 2003 convention.

India has been elected as a member of the Intergovernmental Committee on UNESCO's 2003 convection for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage for the 2022 -26 cycle. The election took place during the 9th General Assembly of the 2003 convection held at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris from 5th to 7th July 2022.

Against the four vacant seats within the Asia - Pacific group, six countries, namely India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Thailand had presented their candidature.India received 110 votes from the 155 State Parties that were present and voting.

The Intergovernmental Committee of the 2003 Convention consists of 24 members and India is elected in the General Assembly of the Convention according to the principals of equitable geographical representation and rotation. States members to the committee are elected for a term of four years.

In the past India has served two times as member of the Intergovernmental Committee of this Convention. One from 2006 to 2010 and the other from 2014 to 2018. For it's 2022 - 26 term, India has formulated a clear vision for the protection and promotion of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

7. Statue of Peace of Swami Ramanujacharya in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir unveiled by Shri Amit Shah.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah unveiled Statue of Peace of Swami Ramanujacharya in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on 07 July 2022 through video conferencing. Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha and Shri Yatiraj Jeeyar of Shri Yadugiri Yathiraj Math were present on the occasion.

Ramanujacharya was born in Tamil Nadu in Vikram Samvat 1074. He was the child of Keshavacharya and Mata Kantimani. He studied scriptures deeply in his teenage years. At the age of 23, Shri Ramanujacharya took sanyas and became a scholar, a revolutionary and a pioneer who brought many social changes during his time. He devoted his whole to religion, devotion and nation. By adopting the formula of Manasa, Vacha, Karmana, he placed his life in the service of the people.

8. New Union Minister of Steel is now Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia in addition to his existing portfolio took charge as Union Steel Minister at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi on 07 July 2022. Shri Sanjay Singh who is currently serving as Secretary, Ministry of Steel welcome the Minister at the Steel Ministry. 

Shri Scindia represents Madhya Pradesh as Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha and is Cabinet Minister for the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Ministry of Steel.

9. Workshop conducted by Aditya - L1 Science Support Cell (AL1SSC).

Students from Various Institutes and Universities across India joined the workshop conducted by Aditya - L1 Science Support Cell which make them aware to the basic processes happening on the sun. The workshop took place form 27th June to 6th July 2022 by AL1SSC, it is a joint venture of Indian Space and Research organization (ISRO) and Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital.

AL1SSC will be organizing more such workshops before and after the launch of Aditya - L1 Mission. The Aditya - L1 Mission is India's first dedicated spacecraft mission to study the sun.
