1. Lok Sabha passes National Anti - Doping Bill, 2021
- The Lok Sabha has passed the National Anti - Doping Bill, 2021 by voice vote on 27 July 2022. The bill provides the constitution of the National Anti - Doping Agency (NADA) for the regulation of anti-doping activities in sports.
- The function of the National Anti-Doping Bill, 2021 include planning, implementing and monitoring anti-doping activities as well as investigating anti-doping rule violations. The legislation prohibits athletes, athlete support personnel and other persons from engaging in doping in sports.
- Under the new legislation, violations of anti-doping rules may result in disqualification of results including forfeiture of medals, points and prizes, ineligibility to participate in a competition or event for a prescribed period. and financial sanctions.
2. National Institute of Virology (NIV) successfully isolates monkeypox virus from infected persons
- Monkeypox virus have been for the first time isolated from infected patients in India by National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune which works under Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The ICMR - NIV has successfully isolated and cultured the Monkeypox virus strain from the samples of infected Indian Patients.
- Monkeypox is an acute viral diesase and it's symptoms are fever, skin rashes, Lymph node enlargement, headache, muscle ache or exhaustion and sore throat and cough.
3. Government launches Coking Coal Mission
- The Government of India has launched the Coking Coal Mission to meet the demands of domestic coking coal, said by Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi in a written reply in Lok Sabha on 27 July 2022.
- As per Minister, Coal India Limited has undertaken constant efforts to enhance coking coal production by capacity addition of existing coking coal producing mines and by opening new coking coal blocks.
4. MoU of Cooperation signed between Parliaments of India and Mozambique
- Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and the Speaker of the Assembly of Mozambique Esperanca Laurinda Francisco Nhiuane Bias at Parliament House Comoplex signed a Memorandum of Understanding of Cooperation on 27 July 2022.
- A Parliamentary Delegation of Mozambique led by Ms. Bias is on a three day visit to India. The Memorandum aims to developed privileged realtions between the Parliaments of India and Mozambique based on the principles of equality, reciprocity of benefits and mutual respect.
5. 83rd Raising Day of CRPF was celebrated
- 27th July of every year is celebrated as Raising Day and this was the 83rd Raising Day of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted CRPF personnel and their families on the raising day of the paramilitary force.
6. Seminar on safe use of Chemicals at workplace was organised
- Chemical and Fertilizers Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya chaired a seminar on safe use of chemicals at workplace at New Delhi on 27th July.
- He mentioned that chemical industry is a critical and integral part of the growing Indian Economy, it occupies a vital position in meeting our basic needs, developmental needs and improving the quality of daily lives.
7. 7th death anniversary of Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam was observed
- On 27th of July 7th death anniversary of former president and legendary Scientist Bharat Ratna Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam was observed.
- Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam was popularly known as the Missile Man of India, is also remembered as on of the greatest teacher ever. He played a major role in India's defence and space research development.
8. 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign declared CSR activity under Companies Act
- Corporate Affairs Ministry has said that companies can spend their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for activities related to the campaign such as mass scale production and supply of the national flag under Schedule VII of the Companies Act pertaining to promotion of education relating to culture.
- Under the Companies Act, 2013, certain class of profitable companies are required to shell out at least 2 percent of their three year annual average net profit towards CSR activities.
- Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is being organized by the Government as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring home the national flag and hoist it to mark the 75th year of India's Independence.
9. Assamese writer Shri Atulanada Goswami died at 87
- Shri Atulanada Goswami was a Litterateur and was also honoured with Sahitya Academy Award in 2006 for his novel 'Seneh Jorir Ganthi'.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi express his grief over the demise of Shri Atulanada Goswami.
