1. Ministry of Tourism Launches Paryatan Mitra and Paryatan Didi – A National Responsible Tourism Initiative
1. पर्यटन मंत्रालय ने "पर्यटन मित्र" और "पर्यटन दीदी" का शुभारंभ किया – एक राष्ट्रीय जिम्मेदार पर्यटन पहल।

- The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India launched a national responsible tourism initiative called ‘Paryatan Mitra & Paryatan Didi’.
- भारत सरकार के पर्यटन मंत्रालय ने ‘पर्यटन मित्र और पर्यटन दीदी’ नामक एक राष्ट्रीय जिम्मेदार पर्यटन पहल का शुभारंभ किया।

- The initiative was launched on September 27th, which is celebrated as World Tourism Day.
- यह पहल 27 सितंबर को शुरू की गई, जिसे विश्व पर्यटन दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है।

- Paryatan Mitra and Paryatan Didi were piloted in 6 tourist destinations across India:- Orchha (Madhya Pradesh), Gandikota (Andhra Pradesh), Bodh Gaya (Bihar), Aizwal (Mizoram), Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Sri Vijaya Puram (Andaman & Nicobar Islands)

- The pilot of the Paryatan Mitra and Paryatan Didi program began on August 15th of this year.
- पर्यटन मित्र और पर्यटन दीदी कार्यक्रम का पायलट इस वर्ष 15 अगस्त से शुरू हुआ।

- On World Tourism Day 2024, the Ministry of Tourism expanded the initiative to include Paryatan Mitra and Paryatan Didi across 50 tourist destinations in the country.
- विश्व पर्यटन दिवस पर विस्तार: विश्व पर्यटन दिवस 2024 पर, पर्यटन मंत्रालय ने इस पहल का विस्तार करते हुए इसे देश के 50 पर्यटन स्थलों में लागू किया।

2. Winners of Best Tourism Villages Competition-2024
2. बेस्ट टूरिज्म विलेजेस प्रतियोगिता-2024 के विजेता

- On September 27, 2024, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, announced the winners of the Best Tourism Villages Competition in celebration of World Tourism Day. 
- 27 सितंबर, 2024 को, भारत सरकार के पर्यटन मंत्रालय ने विश्व पर्यटन दिवस के अवसर पर बेस्ट टूरिज्म विलेजेस प्रतियोगिता के विजेताओं की घोषणा की। 

- The competition was introduced in 2023 to promote tourism to India’s villages and recognize those that preserve cultural and natural assets through community values and a commitment to sustainability. 
- यह प्रतियोगिता 2023 में भारत के गांवों में पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने और उन गांवों को पहचानने के लिए शुरू की गई थी, जो सामुदायिक मूल्यों और स्थिरता के प्रति प्रतिबद्धता के माध्यम से सांस्कृतिक और प्राकृतिक संसाधनों को संरक्षित करते हैं। 

- 36 villages were recognized as winners across 8 categories in the 2024 competition.

- The initiative aims to enhance tourism in rural areas while supporting the preservation of cultural heritage and environmental sustainability.

3. Launch of Handbook by Ministry of Tourism

- The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, launched a handbook for States/UTs to grant and implement Industry Status for the Tourism and Hospitality sector on 27th September, 2024.
- भारत सरकार के पर्यटन मंत्रालय ने 27 सितंबर, 2024 को राज्यों/केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों के लिए पर्यटन और आतिथ्य क्षेत्र को उद्योग का दर्जा प्रदान करने और लागू करने हेतु एक पुस्तिका का विमोचन किया।

4. The Regional Labour Institute, Chennai, has been awarded the "Uttam" accreditation by the Capacity Building Commission.
4. क्षेत्रीय श्रम संस्थान, चेन्नई को क्षमता निर्माण आयोग द्वारा "उत्तम" मान्यता प्रदान की गई है।

- The Regional Labour Institute, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is a subordinate office of DGFASLI under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

5. 57th Executive Committee Meeting of NMCG approves Projects worth ₹1,062 Crore
5. एनएमसीजी की 57वीं कार्यकारी समिति की बैठक ने ₹1,062 करोड़ के परियोजनाओं को मंजूरी दी।

- The 57th Executive Committee (EC) meeting of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) was chaired by Shri Rajeev Kumar Mital, the Director General of NMCG.
- राष्ट्रीय गंगा स्वच्छता मिशन (एनएमसीजी) की 57वीं कार्यकारी समिति (ईसी) की बैठक की अध्यक्षता श्री राजीव कुमार मितल ने की, जो एनएमसीजी के महानिदेशक हैं।

- The meeting approved projects worth ₹1,062 crore.
- बैठक में ₹1,062 करोड़ के परियोजनाओं को मंजूरी दी गई। 

- The projects focus on the conservation and cleanliness of the Ganga River.
- ये परियोजनाएँ गंगा नदी के संरक्षण और स्वच्छता पर केंद्रित हैं। 

- The approved projects also include activities related to IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) during Mahakumbh 2025.
- मंजूर की गई परियोजनाओं में महाकुंभ 2025 के दौरान सूचना, शिक्षा और संचार (आईईसी) से संबंधित गतिविधियाँ भी शामिल हैं।

- World Pharmacists Day is celebrated every year on September 25th to honor the contributions of pharmacists to global health.
- विश्व फार्मासिस्ट दिवस हर साल 25 सितंबर को फार्मासिस्टों के वैश्विक स्वास्थ्य में योगदान को सम्मानित करने के लिए मनाया जाता है।

- The event is organized by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), a partner of the World Health Organization (WHO).
- इस आयोजन का आयोजन अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फार्मास्युटिकल महासंघ (FIP) द्वारा किया जाता है, जो विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) का साझेदार है।

- The theme for 2024 is 'Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs', highlighting their role in disease prevention, patient care, and medication access.

7. India and Republic of Uzbekistan sign Bilateral Investment Treaty in Tashkent
7. भारत और उज्बेकिस्तान गणराज्य ने ताशकंद में द्विपक्षीय निवेश संधि पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

- The Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) between India and Uzbekistan was signed in Tashkent.
- भारत और उज्बेकिस्तान के बीच द्विपक्षीय निवेश संधि (BIT) पर ताशकंद में हस्ताक्षर किए गए।

- The treaty was signed by Union Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman and Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Mr. Khodjayev Jamshid Abdukhakimovich.
- इस संधि पर भारत की केंद्रीय मंत्री श्रीमती निर्मला सीतारमण और उज्बेकिस्तान के उप प्रधानमंत्री श्री खोदजाएव जमशिद अब्दुखाकिमोविच ने हस्ताक्षर किए।

- The BIT ensures protection for Uzbekistan investors in India and Indian investors in Uzbekistan based on international precedents and practices.

8. INDIAN OCEAN RIM ASSOCIATION SEMINAR

- The second edition of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) seminar on Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing was held at Naval War College, Goa on 25th September 2024.
- हिन्द महासागर रिम संघ (IORA) के तहत अवैध, अनिर्धारित और अनियमित (IUU) मछली पकड़ने पर सेमिनार का दूसरा संस्करण 25 सितंबर 2024 को गोवा के नौसैनिक युद्ध कॉलेज में आयोजित किया गया।

- The seminar reviewed IUU fishing activities in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) and their implications in the economic, environmental, and security domains.
- सेमिनार ने भारतीय महासागर क्षेत्र (IOR) में IUU मछली पकड़ने की गतिविधियों और इसके आर्थिक, पर्यावरणीय, और सुरक्षा क्षेत्रों में प्रभावों की समीक्षा की।

- It also discussed the legal gaps in addressing these activities that could be pursued by IORA member states.

- Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane led an Indian delegation to Kenya on an official visit from September 26 to 27, 2024, at the invitation of Principal Secretary, Ministry of Defence Dr. Patrick Mariru.
- रक्षा सचिव श्री गिरिधर अरामने ने 26 से 27 सितंबर 2024 तक केन्या में एक आधिकारिक दौरे के लिए भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व किया, जिसे रक्षा मंत्रालय के प्रधान सचिव डॉ. पैट्रिक मारिरु के निमंत्रण पर किया गया।

- The delegation included senior officers from the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of External Affairs.

- Commerce Secretary Shri Sunil Barthwal and Secretary, MoICE, Kingdom of Bhutan, H.E. Dasho Tashi Wangmo co-chaired the India-Bhutan Commerce Secretary Level Meeting (CSLM) in Thimphu on 27 September 2024.
- वाणिज्य सचिव श्री सुनील Barthwal और भूटान के MoICE के सचिव, एच.ई. डाशो ताशी वांगमो ने 27 सितंबर 2024 को थिम्पू में भारत-भूटान वाणिज्य सचिव स्तर की बैठक (CSLM) की सह-अध्यक्षता की।

- The two sides discussed all aspects of the bilateral trade partnership, including measures to strengthen cross-border infrastructure, enhance connectivity, and facilitate trade between the two countries.

- The 8th meeting of the India-Myanmar Joint Trade Committee (JTC) was hosted by India in Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi.

- The meeting was co-chaired by Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, India, Shri Siddharth Mahajan, and Director General, Department of Trade, Myanmar, Mr. Myint Thura.
- बैठक की सह-अध्यक्षता वाणिज्य मंत्रालय, भारत के वाणिज्य और उद्योग विभाग के संयुक्त सचिव श्री सिद्धार्थ महाजन और म्यांमार के व्यापार विभाग के महानिदेशक श्री म्यिंट थुरा ने की।
