Three laying of foundations stones and one inaguration will be done by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya

India's Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on his three days tour to Puducherry and Chennai.


During his tour to Puducherry and Chennai, he will review status and progress of Health and Fertiliser Ministries programmes.

India's Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya is on this tour to Puducherry and Chennai from 24th - 26th June 2022.

In PUDUCHERRY he will:

  • lay foundation stones of International Centre of Excellence for Training in Medical Entomology (VCRC)
  • and will inaugurate International School of Public Health, JIPMER

On his tour to CHENNAI he will:

  • virtually lay the foundation stone of Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Wellness Cntre and Lab in Avadi from Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital in Omandurar.
  • and lay the foundation stone of New Technology Centre at Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) in Guindy.

  • VCRC
Full form of VCRC is Vector Control Research Centre.

Vector Control  Research Centre is established at Puducherry (earlier Pondicherry), India in July 1975. It is one of the permanent institutes of the Indian Council of Medical Research, Department of Health Research, Government of India.

  • JIPMER
Full form of JIPMER is Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research.

It was originally established by the French Government in 1823.
In 1956 foundation of new medical college was laid and in 1964, hospital was inaugurated.
It became an institute of national importance under ministry of health and family welfare, Government of India in the year 2008.

  • CIPET
Full form of CIPET is Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology.

Earlier known as Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology.

CIPET was established in 1968 by Government of India with the assistance of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai, India.

During the initial project period between 1968 and 1973, the institute achieved the targets envisaged and was rated as one of the most successful UNDP projects implemented worldwide.
