   - PSLV stands for Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle. It is India’s workhorse launch vehicle developed by ISRO.

   - The PSLV-C56/DS-SAR mission was launched on 30th July 2023.

3. Primary Satellite:

   - The primary payload for this mission was DS-SAR, a synthetic-aperture radar satellite.

   - It was developed for Singapore by ST Engineering in partnership with Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA).

4. Purpose of DS-SAR:

   - The DS-SAR satellite is designed to provide all-weather surveillance and satellite imaging capabilities. 

   - It is used for applications like maritime security, disaster management, and environmental monitoring.
